Happy Tales From The Cattery

As of August of this year we have re-homed 244 cats and kittens. Each cat came with a story, some we knew,  others only the cat in it's eternal mystery would ever know!  Each of these furry balls of love reaches a soft spot in all of our hearts, even the ferals! It is sometimes hard to see them go, we can only hope that their new homes offer all the love and TLC that each and every one of them deserves.

There are a few cases that have really stood out and thanks to many hours of care and handling, we send them off to their forever homes...

L.C. and Piper

Piper came to The Bend Spay and Neuter Project in February of 2008 as a surrender. She was extremely feral, one of the most feral we have seen. A short while after she broke out with a virus and had to be moved into isolation. Being unapproachable, she had to be anesthetized every other day to be treated with fluids, antibiotics, vitamins and various other medications

COMPANION CATS AND KITTENS

We believe that every critter deserves a chance!!

We invariably take in homeless, friendly cats when their predicaments are such that they cannot be returned to where they came from. Often times they are abandoned in mobile home parks, apartment complexes or dumped off to fend for themselves. At the clinic, they are given a health exam, spayed or neutered,  vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped and placed up for adoption.

There is a $30.00 adoption fee which covers the above services. We also include a free exam within the first 30 days.

Can you provide a loving home for a special needs kitty?

We have several FIV and LEUKEMIA positive kitties for adoption. These otherwise healthy, sweet loving cats are looking for very special indoor homes with someone to provide them with the love and care they deserve!! They come with lifetime veterinary support!

FERAL KITTIES

Cats looking for mousing jobs!!

A feral cat is a domestic cat that has been born in the wild and has had no human interaction. This is unfortunately due to irresponsible humans who at some point, neglected to spay and neuter and allowed cats to proliferate in the wild. We believe that these helpless creatures deserve a chance as well!! Often times they cannot be returned to where they came from so they are trapped by volunteers or concerned citizens, brought into the clinic where they are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and ear tipped (a small portion of their right ear is excised to show that they have already been altered).

They are then placed for adoption to be mousers in barns, shops and sheds. They make great rodent control!

Donations gladly accepted for adopting feral cats. Please see the following info for caring for barn cats:
